Lately

Living Room Valentine Hearts Our living room is full of hearts. There are penguins that come and go. There are heart shaped paper, fabric, and pancakes. Just enjoying this lovely month. ;)

Bruce's Valentine Cards

Bruce made cards for his Valentines which consisted of tons of Aunties (he wouldn't specify which), Ji-ji (grandpa), Nana, Daddy, Uncle Larry, and... himself. He'd tell me what to write to each person including his own:

"Dear Buce, I lah you! Done."

Bruce Feeding Kentavious

He's been cooking a lot more, mainly pizzas. Feeding his dolls, toys, Brandon, and me. Pizzas in a bowl, anyone?

Bruce's Legos

We've been building "pudy cool!" boats. He loves saying that phrase and it cracks us up each time.

Last week, I was driving around looking for parking and asked him if he'd like to help me find parking. He said, "Mmhmm! Parking, where are you? Paaarking? Where did Parking go?" :D

Akiyo's First Glasses

We were trying to find parking to pick up my first pair of glasses. :)

Golden Milk

And finally, our daily drink of choice: Golden Milk. Yum!

What've you been up to lately? Hope you're having a great Monday!

Lots of Smiles, Akiyo

Sisters Seattle Trip Part 3

Sisters Seattle Trip On our last day, we had the morning to explore the rest of Seattle on foot that we missed the other days. We were on our way to find the hidden Gum Wall when we ran into Mr. Sasquatch above. When we finally found the Gum Wall, we were half disgusted and half amazed:

We made our mark - A(kiyo) S(hizuka) K(aori) Ishii:

After Purelling our hands like mad, we headed to downtown where we took in all the architecture. We had learned during the Duck Tour about the Great Seattle Fire and how the new city ordinance required all buildings to be built with bricks and stones.

We took a few silly pictures too:

We had a light breakfast at Zeitgeist Coffee and started walking back to checkout the Seattle Public Library. But before we got there, Shizuka wanted to stop by a Cherry Street Coffee to buy coffee beans as gifts and we came across this neat painting on their wall:

Sisters Seattle Trip

So the Seattle Public Library is this amazing building with tons of windows. If you're afraid of heights like me, I suggest you just enjoy it from the outside because it's not very friendly for people like us.

Once you walk in the main entrance, you're greeted by this steep yellow escalator. My knees shook, my palms were sweating, and my heart started pounding.

Sisters Seattle Trip

My sisters didn't realize the extent of my fear and they laughed at me while they kept going up the other escalators. I kept my cool and found an elevator and found myself at the third floor:

Sisters Seattle Trip

Creepy, right? At this point, I was trying to text them, walking around everywhere. I went up the stairs to the fourth floor and was greeted by computers. I walked across the floor toward the elevator to only realize that nearly everything, including the side rails and elevators, were glass. I freaked. I closed my eyes, hung onto the elevator rails, and rushed outside in tears (just a bit). Haha, I can laugh about it now but I've learned not to test my fear of heights. (Funny thing is, I was somewhat okay when we were at Snoqualmie Falls. I don't get it either.) So my sisters finally came out and apologized and helped me to the top. But I didn't do much sightseeing so Shizuka took lots of neat pictures like this:

If you're afraid of heights and you want to enter the building, I suggest you go in from the Spring St entrance and checking it out from there, which looks like this:

It's a beautiful building! After that, it was almost time to head to the airport so we got a box of humbows at Mee Sum's to gift to our families and got a little treat at Le Panier:

We got to the airport and had our last snack together at the Africa Lounge inside SeaTac. :D Yes, we ate again! It was such a fun trip with my sisters, I hope we'll be able to do something like this again before another 10 years passes us by!

Have you gone on a sibling trip lately? Or a family trip? What's been your favorite vacation?

Here's Part 1, Part 2, and Plush You!

Sisters Seattle Trip Part 2

Sisters Seattle Trip On Day 3, we had our family friends, the Ikedahs, take us around all the touristy places in Seattle that weren't walking distance. But before we started our tour, we had to try Moore Coffee. It was a little silly that it took us the third day to try them since it's part of our hotel! They served the best coffee in Seattle, in my opinion, and I loved their decor:

While we waited for the Ikedahs to arrive, we did some stupid things as sisters do... Like lay on the grass, soaking up the sun:

Sisters Seattle Trip

Juuust kidding! It was just a green installation in the hotel:

We took other silly photos but I'll spare you the boredom. ;)

Our first stop on our tour was Belle Epicurean:

Their chocolate croissant was delicious!

We checked out the Issaquah Salmon Hatchery. Although they said that there's a lot more salmon trying to swim up the current during the season, we were amazed at the number and size of some of the fish!

Then we stopped by Boehm's Candy. How cute is their shop?! They have a factory right behind the storefront and we were able to peek into the windows to see some of their intricate chocolate creations. They have tours which sounds like it's worth checking out.

My favorite place we visited in Seattle was Snoqualmie Falls:

It was gorgeous. The air so fresh and the trees changing color for winter. Gorgeous.

The sun setting made it even more magical.

Sisters Seattle Trip This is Ceylla in the middle. :) We've known her since birth and now she's grown into this intelligent, beautiful young lady. Oh, how time flies.

After taking in all the beauty of the waterfall and its surroundings, we had a buffet linner (late lunch, early dinner) at Snoqualmie Casino. Stuffed ourselves, of course. Then headed to the one place I definitely wanted to see, the Fremont Troll:

Sisters Seattle Trip

He's huge, a little scary driving up to him, and a little sad that his right finger is falling apart. I tried picking his nose but no boogers. ;)

We headed to Kerry Park and got to checkout the best view of the Seattle skyline.

The sun was setting so we watched as the city slowly lit up.

We then walked around the waterfront and said our goodbyes to the Ikedah family. Thank you so much for taking us around!! <3

When we got home, we did get a late night snack at Serious Pie. Pizzas and beer before bed. Only on vacation. ;)
